Formed in 2023, Oxfordshire space rock band Lunar Kites consists of Roger Bowley (bass), Andrew Findlay (drums), Jason Foster (guitar), Tim Masters (guitar/synths) and Antonio Serrano (vocals/samples).
Drawing on diverse influences, the band has spent 2024 in the studio working on a galaxy of original songs about space exploration, dystopian futures, distant moons, and Earth-bound pollution.
(Spoiler alert: There are rumours of an epic track inspired by a Doctor Who story from the 1970s. You'll have to come to a live show to find out the truth )
The band's debut single, due for release on all major streaming platforms on 5 November, is Interstellar Shout. Inspired by the mission of NASA's Voyager 2 space probe, Interstellar Shout is a love letter to scientific achievement and human ingenuity. It's also the only song in the history of rock music to contain the word "heliosphere". Probably.
With Star Date 2025 on the event horizon, Lunar Kites is ready for liftoff - launching with a string of live gigs, further singles and an album release.
